Columbia Sportswear, new restaurant coming to The Village at Meridian
MERIDIAN, Idaho (CBS 2) — The Village at Meridian is getting some new tenants. The shopping, dining and entertainment destination announced on Thursday that Columbia Sportswear is opening its first Treasure Valley store this fall. Columbia will be moving into the building with Century Link and Cafe Zupas in Village North.
In restaurant moves, the Village says Texas de Brazil will open in early 2019 and will be located near The Counter and Z Gallerie.

The owners of pet rabbits are used to feeding their animals lettuce, carrots and other salad vegetables - but now vets have warned that the diet could be seriously harmful.
Lettuce contains a chemical which has an effect on rabbits similar to opium, experts have revealed, which can make them lethargic and give them a euphoric high.
Instead of salad, rabbits should instead be eating a diet which mostly consists of hay, in sharp contrast to the usual image of bunnies munching through a pile of greens.

The Fort Worth Texas Temple has entered its construction phase, following the Saturday, Oct. 28, groundbreaking services held for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ second of three houses of the Lord in Texas’ Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington metro area.
Elder Jose L. Alonso, a General Authority Seventy and first counselor in the Church’s North America Southwest Area presidency, presided at the event, offering remarks and a dedicatory prayer over the temple site in suburban Burleson and the construction process.
Russia Ready to Celebrate Cosmonaut Day on International Space Station
Russian cosmonaut Oleg Novitsky has been given official permission to skip work and celebrate Cosmonaut Day on the International Space Station (ISS).
Novitsky's day-off is still full of official engagements, including a video conference with Mission Control and a pre-arranged Skype call to children at Russia's Artek summer camp, the TASS news agency reported.
Novitsky will be the only Russian on board the ISS during the holiday. His fellow cosmonauts Andrei Borisenko and Sergei Ryzhikov are already scheduled to return to Earth on April 10.

According to new government data, it's time for everyone to be more mindful.
"People are consuming alcohol at levels that are really detrimental to their overall mental and physical health," Horizon Health Services Senior Vice President Brandy Vandermark-Murray said.
The CDC found alcohol-induced deaths jumped 26% between 2019 and 2020, killing more than 49,000 people during the first year of the pandemic.

Dusty Payne of Lahaina was pulled unconscious from the waters on the North Shore of Oahu on Monday after a spill while surfing and had to be revived before taken to the hospital, the World Surf League website reported. The former World Championship Tour surfer fell and hit his head on the reef at Backdoor Pipeline on Monday morning and didn’t come up, Ryder Guest, who was in the lineup at the time, told Surfline.
