
Piano festival set for Feb. 17
The Maui Piano Amateurs Festival will be held at 5 p.m. on Feb. 17, at Wailuku Union Church.
There is no cost to attend.
Participating pianists will perform solo piano works by Beethoven, Schubert, Schumann, Chopin, Granados and others.

Foundation to award $10K in scholarships
The Lahaina Restoration Foundation Scholarship Committee has announced that $10,000 in scholarships will be available to Lahainaluna High School seniors and alumni for the 2024-25 school year.
Qualifying seniors graduating from Lahainaluna High School in 2024 are eligible for scholarships up to $2,000. Eligibility requirements include being accepted into an accredited two- or four-year college or university, as well as writing an essay.
Additionally, Lahainaluna High School alumni who are enrolled full time in a college or university for the 2024-25 academic year will be eligible for $1,000 or $2,000 scholarship awards.
Completed applications must be emailed to pwakida@hawaii.rr.com by midnight on March 15.
Applications are available at www.lahainarestoration.org or can be obtained from Lahainaluna High School College and Career Counselor Ginny Yasutake.
